VIENNA (Reuters) – Austrian constructing materials firm Wienerberger, the world’s biggest brickmaker, has agreed to buy British roofing agency Building Product Design Group for an undisclosed quantity, Wienerberger said on Monday.
BPD has more than two hundred employees and two manufacturing websites in Nottinghamshire and South Wales, a fragment of Wienerberger’s 14 flowers and 1,four hundred personnel in Britain. BPD had annual sales of 29.3 million pounds in 2018, Wienerberger said.
The Austrian company lately expanded its stock in Britain, its biggest single marketplace, to prepare for potential supply disruptions linked to Brexit. But the decision to buy BPD became not linked to Britain’s plans to depart the European Union, a spokeswoman for Wienerberger said.
“BPD’s professional roof add-ons are a great healthy with our present roof portfolio, assisting to gasoline destiny growth throughout the UK and Europe,” Wienerberger stated in a statement.
BPD’s product variety consists of building air flow systems and roof underlays.
There aren’t any plans to cut jobs at BPD, the spokeswoman said.
“BPD will become a centre of excellence for innovative roofing solutions within Wienerberger,” the Austrian enterprise said in its statement. “BPD may be tasked with developing progressive answers designed to be carried out and offered throughout the wider Wienerberger community.”
