Nissan’s 2019 Murano receives an outdoors freshening

3 Mins read

Nissan’s 5-passenger midsize Murano crossover returns for 2019 with a “freshened” outside design and a few new premium interior functions, together with extra protection and driver-assistance technologies.
Styling tweaks consist of a brand new, bolder V-movement grille, restyled LED headlights (now fashionable), LED hind lights, and late 18- and 20-inch wheel designs. But the modifications are not dramatic, so it’s still undoubtedly identifiable as a Murano — continuing the specific edgy styling that has usually set this automobile apart from its competition.
The 2019 Murano comes in 4 trim tiers, beginning with the bottom front-wheel-power S ($31,270 plus $1, half freight), followed using the front-wheel-drive SV ($34,440), our tester for this document; SL ($39,230); and Platinum ($43,530). All-wheel drive may be delivered to any trim stage for an additional $1,600.

The Platinum version’s premium indoors comes with new semi-aniline leather with diamond-quilted inserts and contrasting micro-piping trim for the seats, door armrests, and middle console lid.
New indoors trim schemes include Dark Wood-Tone (Platinum), Light Wood-Tone (SV, SL), and Metallic (S, SV, SL).
Included on all models are the new Rear Door Alert and the Intelligent Driver Alertness device, which video display units the motive force for signs and symptoms of drowsiness and inattention.
Optional is the new Intelligent Around View Monitor and an 11-speaker Bose top-class audio device, each of which comes in the SV Premium Package ($3,500), which has been changed to include our tester. Optional are new 20-inch satin-black alloy wheels ($1,730). We also had 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The SV Premium Package includes an energy panoramic moon roof, clever cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, LED fog lighting fixtures, and heated front seats.
All models include Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seats, NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, an 8-inch shade contact display screen.
SL and Platinum models upload NissanConnect with Navigation, which now features door-to-door navigation with three-D constructing pix and satellite tv for pc pix, online POI search, and traffic information.
Available in Nissan Safety Shield 360, which incorporates driving force assistance, crash avoidance, and pedestrian detection systems. It’s a part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility era. Other features encompass Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking. These are standard on the Platinum model and can be delivered to the SL with the Technology Package ($1,970).
Among new popular protection capabilities are 2a d-row aspect air luggage and a front passenger knee airbag. Also available are Intelligent Lane Intervention and Traffic Sign Recognition.
As before, the Murano seats as many as five humans. There are 32.1 cubic feet of shipment area in the back of the rear seat (31.1 with the panoramic moon roof) or 67 cubic feet (sixty-five with the moon roof) with the rear seatback folded down.
All models continue to be powered by a usually aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 260 horsepower and 240 foot-kilos of torque. It’s linked to a continuously variable computerized transmission.
EPA ratings are 20 mpg town/28 toll road/23 combined (the front- or all-wheel force).
The third-generation Murano’s closely sculptured look added masses of creases and folds, putting off the smoother traces of the preceding model. One of the coolest features is the panoramic moon roof, which gives the Murano a convertible feel.
Nissan says that Murano’s indoors was designed to offer occupants the texture of an upscale social living room. To help with that, our SV version got here with comfortable brown leather seats, with buckets up front and a 3-person bench inside the rear.
Our rear seat had a pull-down center armrest that still had twin cupholders and, on the front, a system cubby for smartphones and such. At the rear of the front console, there was a USB port within easy attain of the rear passengers, in conjunction with dual vents for heating and air conditioning.
There are also map pockets inside the backs of the two front seats and door pockets on all four doors, with a small bottle holder in each.
The knee room is limited inside the rear seat, though, especially whilst the front seats are set to accommodate larger human beings.
